Why Should I Clean My Car Engine?

Besides cosmetic reasons, there are plenty reason why you should keep your engine clean. One reason is to remove grease and grime from the engine. Your engine will obviously work better and last longer if it wasn’t carrying a load…of grease and grime. In addition, grease and grime can keep your car hotter than it has to be. Therefore, cleaning your car’s engine will help keep it running cooler. Also, grease and grime makes it harder to identify leaks and other forms of wear and tear. Cleaning the engine will immediately pin point those areas in need of maintenance.

How Often Should I Clean My Car Engine?

The environment you drive your vehicle in determines how often you should clean it. If you drive in the city, your engine shouldn’t be cleaned any more than once or twice a year, depending on how dirty your engine appears. If you drive in harsh conditions (heavy rain and snow), your car engine should be cleaned every 2-3 months, specifically in winter months.
